Ok While the forums were down I spent the time doing final tweaks to the model and its skins. I added a new skin in the classic A|iens black and tweaked the rest of the skins to make em look better (especially the blue version). I'm satisfied with everything in the pack and thus it's time to release to the general public.

However I have no web estate and as such need hosting for the zip file. If you would be willing to host the file, which is a little over a meg, you can contact me at BigGreen@Acolyte.zzn.com but I would perfer if you can AIM me at BigGreenGeek. I've sent off a copy to =DD= Wolf Kahler and he'll hopefully be post up a link shortly.

Sadly no, you simply copy the color you want from the subdirectories it puts in the alien3 folder and replace the regular one.

Actually, I just learned how to do the random skins thing (like the white and black marine models), so it might not be too hard for the model author to assemble the lerk to work with a few random colours.

The thing is that the model has 5 different skins for one color, It would end up with mis matched parts if set to random. I could be wrong but I think that the problem.

Geek, you can set "skin families," which can group more than one skin together. Like to make the colonial marine skin work, there were three skins for each [colonial marine head, arms and default NS skins recoloured to suit the CM]. Each was listed in their proper family and it worked. I've limitted that, though, by skinning the NS hands that were stapled on the model to the CM hand skins.

KICKASS! Can you give me instructions on how to do that? I would love to be able to randomize it. (Though I would prolly just stick with the green cause its my favorite) I think some people would really dig having it change like that.

That's how it looked in the QC file for the marine skin. However, you need coding behind it, in the game, to actually -ask- for a random skin. You can't just put as many skins as you want and expect them to show.

I can only reskin for right now, but I have milkshape registered so I can learn to model, but at the same time I want to learn to map.
