Ever since the latest update I've had it that in some rooms I cant get in cuz it says they are enforcing model/shells.mdl . Is this a problem others are having. My friends are having the same problem and do u know what we can do to fix the problem. asrifle.gif
FireStorm
put this in ns\models
Vahn_Paktu
Download the server updates. It has it in there. Or you can get it from firestorm.

ya the servers kinda regulate the models and stuff.... so you cant really mess with the ns models...
that would be cool if some1 skinned some aliens though

i am getten the same error. i just DLed the file from your link and it did not work too. i DL NS full verion 3 times and restalled. it dont like the shell.mdl
lol i looked at the model in half life veiwer and its just the little bullet shell that goes by your screen so fast you never see it.
lol i deleted it to see what would happen if i joined a server. well the file p_shell.mdl the server DL to me but shell.mdl it just gave me the same error saying the file dont match. well its not there so what file is not matching! then i put it back

JUST SO YOU KNOW I CANT PLAY NS until you fix this bug with the model

lol i just downloaded the server side only patch and got the file from that and it did not work
i am just going to have to wait the month for the team to get back from there break and this fix. thats no NS for be well back to DoD

It works for me... but you have to play on 1.03 servers with that.

The fact that you can't join a server with different models isn't a bug. Whether you realize it or not, each model in the game takes up a lot of system resources that could be used better off on something else, like not lagging.

There's only one marine model to help reduce server stress. You'll never find a low-ping server that allows you to use different models. Plus, you can't see yourself anyway, so what's the point?

wheee after hours of haxoring i got it working well if you got this bug you need to DL the server side patch and get the file from there and extreact it to C:\SIERRA\Half-Life\ns not C:\SIERRA\Half-Life\ns\models. if C:\SIERRA\Half-Life\ns\models it will make a folder in side your model folder called model. it only likes the server side only server of the mdl so go DL it now. i think theres a 1k differents from the cl file to the sv file
FireStorm
but the file shell.mdl will be in the models folder. The file I posted above is from the 1.03 patch.

it says that even though i now put shell.mdl in half-life\ns\models. i've never uses custom models, and i had this bug since 1.2 came out. it happens in some servers only, and sometimes im even able to get to them.
all the servers i play in are dedicated and 1.03. and well,

Server is enforcing coexistency for models\shell.mdl .

what to do what to do?
