I was banned from there last night, out of the blue. I wasnt getting much lag(big surprise for me), and pretty much owning anything that moved. Was one of my best games (especially since I usually play Kharaa) until I killed a Fade who jumped into a vent, then got banned 3 seconds later. Care to guess if that Fade was an Admin or not?

Guess he was **obscenity** for awhile or something, because about 2 hours later I was un-banned.

Sufficient to say, I won't be playing on Sniperlust anymore, apparently if you kill stuff your h@x0ring. Of course if anyone has any idea what the heck I could have been banned for, please feel free to tell me. They run just about every server mod there is, so cheating would be out of the question before you even ask.

BTW, best server EVER if your in Florida: TFZ Natural Selection v1.03 (24.95.227.69:27015) , I get about 30-50 ping there.

Well . . .I dont see how this is a "strategy" for marines . . . and I suppose it belongs in The server forum, but in my opinion, you might do better if you contacted the server admin via e-mail and complained . .

As long as people can run there own servers there will be a matter of pride for the admins as to what goes on. This becomes a problem with socially inept people who's parents have always given them everything. Thus the banning. I have problem with pissy admins and end up getting banned because I'm giving them shiznat. What I love to do is get banned. Then come back 2 secs later with a different wonid and make the admin ban me again. I have 5 wonids so you can imagine how many times I do this. It REALLY p isses off the admin who deserves to have his life messed with for being such an as s in the first place.

i personally love it when players "pwn" me because its fun believe it or not! Most admins kick/ban you for that, not i. I love having good players on my server. Makes it fun for everyone. This is the reason i decided to run my own server. because i got tired of BS admins w/crappy pings.

Only reason we ban players is if they are breaking server rules. That is if they are punks, cheaters, or disrupting the game. Majority of players fall under one of those categories which is why we keep both servers locked to members only. There is nothing worse than playing this game in a pub server. Cooperation and teamwork are unknown words!

I band people for the usually cheat/annoying whatever, but recently i've had to start banning people for saying that the commander doesn't count as a marine. just fyi for ppl who haven't been on my server it clearly says in the rules (while you are loading) that saying the whole commander thing can get you banned, AND i always warn the person first. When they continue to disagree i disagree that they should play here.

Anyways we got this thing called admin_banIP <-- and that works about 90% of the time..

Its good to see admins that don't kick/ban for anyreason. I kicked a slot hogger 4x and he kept coming back!!!! and not joining a team. I gave him a 10min ban soon thier after in hopes that another player would come in and actually play!

I run my own server and i hardly ever use kick or ban, usually because the offense isn't that big of a deal and as far as people flaming, annoying people, or being obnoxious, I find it usually is much more fun if you play with the admin_llama or admin_gag commands . Plus everyone else on the server gets a good kick out of it and the offender quickly becomes the offendee. Point: don't be quick to kick or ban players. There are so many other fun ways to make the guy want to leave

this is what i prefer to do myself. i'll gag or llama them to get them to shut up and listen to what i am saying, or just to get my point across that they need to stop being **obscenity** and work as a team. i'll kick people if they're being just **obscenity** to everyone, because i won't tolerate that on my server. i very rarely ban someone.

and if i'm in the mood, i'll even llama some of my clan members for killing me.
