Cloaking seems to be one of those things that many players don't get a chance to use strategically because either they get it very late in the game and it just becomes something taken for granted as they're powerful enough already, or too early in the game, when they don't want to afford taking risks seeing the possibilities of it.

I'm not really a big fan of cloaking, as I manage to do pretty well without it, but theres a few questions I would like to ask about lvl 3 cloaking, that I've never bothered to try out.

1. If you are cloaked while just lying on the floor as a skulk, can marines just walk through you or will they encounter a solid.

2. If a marine touches you while you are cloaked, do you uncloak as a consequence or do you remain hidden?

3. If you get shot by a stray bullet do you uncloak? and if you remain cloaked, does your blood spray show up?

4. Say if you were cloaked as a skulk and lying on the floor, is it possible for marines to build structures on you unknowingly?

5. Is the cloaking animation reliable to show when you are cloaked, ie. glowing and going transparent? How long does it actually take to cloak?

6. Can marines hear my cloaking and uncloaking sounds?

a few seconds, at lvl 3 there is no way they can see you barring sensor sweeps or being too close to an observatory

6. Can marines hear my cloaking and uncloaking sounds?

cloaking doesn't make a sound that I know of.

dang you stick a few question marks in and the thing turns it into a smiley, evil.

Unless you have something else going on in teh background(ambient sounds, winamp maybe) you should be able to hear sounds when you un-/cloak
EDIT: picking Silence makes these sounds silent also. I wish I could have lvl 3 cloak, silence, and regen, as a skulk, in teh beginning when it could actually be useful. Ultimate ambushing combo y'know!
And you can see if you're too close to an observatory, cause you simply wont cloak.

Thanks for answering my questions, I always thought that when cloaked as a skulk, marines could walk straight through me, since when I'm not cloaked I can run straight through marines.

They can hear the "Whoosh" sound when you cloak if you don't have silence. Don't know about if you do have silence though.
