First things first, it's been a LONG time since I played any NS ... and thought I might see if there are still anyone playing, then saw NS2 in development ... so cool, I think I'm going to try to play some NS just to get a re-taste ^^

Well, I hop into a server that's got a decent amount of population on it... I start playing, and all is going well ... then after playing for like 2 or 3 minutes ... I get a lovely error ...

I'm still connected to steam at that time ... I've tried restarting steam numerous times, to no avail ... currently the steam friends network is down supposedly... but that shouldn't matter for this right? ... not to mention the rest of the players don't seem to be affected by the same thing.

I have also tried shutting down steam, deleting the 3 files that sometimes get corrupted, and restarted steam...which of course re-downloaded them, join another server, and the same thing happens.

I also have attempted playing on both VAC and non VAC'd servers ... just to try and see if that was the issue.

Any clues as to what's going on?

does this happen with other games? (HLDM?)

nope ... and I just tried playing again today (now that friends list is working) and it seems to work ... now to do some searching for the other problem I'm having now ...

I usually stay skulk (can't play fade for crap LOL) ... if I go for the xenocide and leap into a group of marines, usually It'll crash the game, the screen darkens a little, and locks up ... ctrl+alt+del sometimes will allow me to see my task manager (but more often than not, it won't) ... I have to end hl.exe process as the NS has stopped responding.

the +movement thing worked to fix that issue ^^ now to get back used to playing NS LOL
