I'm having some issues with the master server list. It only fetches ~30 servers when I know that there is close to 100 and I cannot connect to the ones that I don't see even if i have the ip. I tried to connect to g4b2s (only server that i had the ip for which didn't load) and it said "Retrying Connection..." "(3)" "(2)" "(1)" "Failed to connect". Which is bull sh*t because when I go to their hlstats website I can see that the server is active. Any advice?

66.228.126.56:27015?

Is that the IP/Port you have for G4B2S?

My only thoughts would be that:
1) You have some boxes ticked (show only: Not full/not empty/not PW protected).
This is most likely as if I tick off all of those I get 32 servers.

2) Something is borked in your connection some where. If that is the IP/port you have for G4B2S, then try doing a tracert to it
Satrt -> Run -> CMD -> "tracert 66.228.126.56" (with out the quotes).
This will show you the route your connection attempts to take, if it fails at one hop then that is your problem (And unfortunately not much you can do about it).

I am still betting on option one though.

I've tried your second suggestion and it shows only 19 hops to get to their server, and that is the ip i use for g4b2s. I'll try the first option shortly.

I tried your first guess and it shows that the boxes for those options in the server filter are unticked...

I'm posting this on the steam forums so everyone here can see their suggestions as well, just in case anyone else is having this problem.

have you tried inputting the IP:PORT in the favorites tab? (remember the full server address would be 66.228.126.56:27015)

oh, yah.

Have you tried to see if this is a problem with other games? Either other HL1 based games (check out HL:DM if naught else), and/or other valve steam games (TF2?)

works now, not sure what fixed it but I reinstalled half life and ns and let it sit for a day.
