Yep, the lighting. You need a LOT more contrast.
First off, get an env_gammaramp or _gamma, whatever it is, in there, and set it to 1.7
Then remove ALL 'light' entities. There are very few places where these are useful, except in the more advanced applications. Use texlights and a custom lights.rad (its not hard to learn how to do) to make the 'base lighting' of your map. Then add in a bunch of light_spots, as the angles of the lights really add detail to all textures they touch.
Play around with that for awhile and your map will look 1000 times prettier.

I agree about the lighting contrast but over all a nice simple (small) map.
If your looking for suggestions the layout looks like it could accommodate a lower vent system and perhaps a few more things to ambush from. Its been running on my bot server and most people like the com location. only real problem i have seen is the hive area is too small and aliens easily get stuck on texture's in and around the hive floor ,hive is way to low to the floor.

thanks for your feedback! yes, the lighting isn't that pretty, but it's my first NS-map so I don't have that much experiences.
At the moment I work on beta3 and try to use texlights instead of 'light' entities.
@ woody : what's the name of your server? I would like to test my map ingame to get an better overview about the gameplay.
If there's anyone who's running an custom map server, it would be awesome if he or she adds my map to the mapcycle ; )

Lighting is more better

We have played it a few times and the only suggestion was the hive area needs something more - its too small with little cover there or by the cc. 0: and vents are to bright
