You should be able to UN-UPGRADE a specific skill/weapon/upgrade or ALL of them to redestribute your level points. This will be convenient and stop 'rejoining' and you dont have to loose your score to reselect your desired weapon etc.
Heres an example: Your a marine and you got scan area, but later you realize more than half of your team has it and chances are you'll be running in beside someone who does.. now you can scrap scan area and trade it for motion tracking or shotgun or armor lv1 or resupply... anything you dont already have!
Another example: youve hit the level peak (I also think this should be increased) and you decide youd be better off with a jetpack instead of heavy armor, and a HMG instead of a GL, and you want motion tracking instead of scan area... instead of removing them 1 at a time and selecting the new upgrade, just remove all your points and select everything from scratch. No rejoin. No relevel. No annoyance.

Yes i would have to agree with this.As an example of this, as the game goes on you may find yourself thinking maybe you should have chosen ha over jp. It would be good to remove abilities and pick new ones.
Well, it'd certainly make the game faster.
I'd imagine it'd benefit aliens a lot more than marines. Cloak or focus would be immensely popular (perhaps in that order) and then you'd drop those once you had enough to fade with your minimum upgrades.
