just though, like the comm can see the health gauge of marines and med them without them asking,
if there could be some sort of ammo gauge. the comm see a player with less then an extra clip and drops him
an ammopack. i dont think i need to explain how useful can this be.

Reasonable, and simple. I like it.

I would like just a simple red bar and blue bar next to the player in the comms' view

has been suggested before, there are a couple reasons for not having it:
it clutters things up in the comm view, and it reduces the comm-marine communication need. Perhaps putting it on the tab status screen next to where it shows what gun someone is carrying might be alright.

Not to mention, you dont want commanders spamming rines up to full ammo for no reason. It slows the marines down, and most often wastes res. Including a meter that should be 1/3 full most of the time just sends the wrong signals.

W liked the idea till I read this and agree. N00blets would want to spam it to full and we don't want that

what if rather than an accurate amount indicator, it was just an "out of ammo" indicator, like a little red circle that comes up on the inside edge of the health circle or something similar?
if it comes up when any of the guns are empty, that would be good... and not as likely to induce ammo spamming in noobs

This strikes me as a better solution. Have it light up when ammo carried isn't enough to reload the next clip completely.

Another solution to this, or perhaps another idea in general, is to have a little ammo and med hologram next to the person who has made unfullfilled requests. My reasoning for this is when there is a group of marines and I go to fill their request I simply don't know who made it. Health is easy to spot who needs it even if they didn't request due to the indicator, but a solution to the ammo could just be a simple indicator of an ammo request. Like a tiny pic of an ammo pack.
Taking the idea further, maybe have other little indicators for different types of requests so it's easy to see in a group who requested what.

I really like this idea, it makes the commander able to seem omniscient.

yeah a "LAST CLIP" flashing or something would be nice
There is already a circle for health so why not another smaller one for ammo ?

Thumbs up for the idea. I have thought of it before, but never bothered to really care. I just thought "the player should know when he needs ammo and how much ammo he should generally have". I personally don't agree with not giving the commander the info on how many clips the player has left, but that's just my point of view. Either way works.

Yeah this would work like right next to the player...very smart.

Either make it a smaller blue ring around the health of a marine, or make it appear when you have ammo selected. Or have it show up only when a marine is less than 1 mag in reserve.

The last two sound best, since as was mentioned, new comms would be inclined to fill that bar up.
The largest problem with ammunition rings is that you have more than one type of ammunition (primary/secondary - though that doesn't mention grenades, mines, and anything else we might add). If anyone can solve that problem without making things excessively complex and unintuitive, I'm all ears.
It seems to me like we could add all sorts of information to the commander interface, but the clutter would result in an experience that is rather daunting for new players.

Instead of rings it could be some small gradient bars beside the marine, HP and Armour on the left, Primary and secondary ammo on the right.
And if really neccessary Request Icons could be below the marine.
4 gradient bars and three icons is alot but it could be done to not look to clutered.
Gradient bars could be like 5px wide and icons small too or something.

i think the idea of showing if the marine has no more ammo of showing an alert if he has one clip left in reserve is a good idea but i dont like the ideas about having a ring being permanently there of some idea like that because it would make the screen of the command console more confusing.

What if, for example where it shows what weapons the player has... lets say default color is blue. When they have 1 clip left it turns yellow and when theyre out of ammo it turns red. This would be specific for each weapin a player has and there would be little clutter.
