I'm commander in a game. I could select 'Player A' on the scoreboard and give him a Waypoint to go to Overlook. I then could select 'Player B - D" and give them a Waypoint to move to Cargo. I then can select 'Player E' and tell him to pick up a welder.
All this can be done via the scoreboard by selecting the player(s) name(s) and placing the Waypoint. This idea could extend to a point where a player only hear what the comm says if the comm selects that player. It could even help him find a certain player by selecting the players name and selecting the button "go to player". The commander can even make squads by selecting the players he wants in the squad via the scoreboard and make the squad. Almost anything involving the players and the commander done via the normal way can also be done using this scoreboard method.
This idea would be good because it would:
- Update the old waypoint system.
- Give the commander more flexibility as to who does what, allowing him to do something like "good players go here, bad players go there".
- Reduce unneeded mic chatter by allowing the commander to only speak to players who he needs to.
- Improve commander efficiency as a whole
- Would facilitate and encourage greatly the use of squads (beyond "your all squad 1")
- Complicate the commander mode further
- Hard to implement
