there are some little things you can win such like a reserved slot, icons and more votes on mapvotings

its a mix of diffrent gametypes, forming a new one. its a little bit like a pick-up-game, a little like a gather-game, a little like a mix-game, and a little bit like a league. it has parts of each commonly known game-type! the best parts?

We'll use 30 slot server.

everyone whos interested on playing some more seriouse and advanced games, but doesnt want total unrelaxed 6on6's, should just try and sign up!

Why 10v10?

cause the guys in charge like the game to played with those numbers

tbh i was suprised it wasnt 15vs15 as they dumb 30ppl server usually has

we want it a little diffrent. if you want to play normal 6v6 gathers you can join a random gather channel or #able.ns aswell since we're also hosting normal gathers

but the cups are meant to be a little diffrent, thats why the first 2 cups were played 10v10

you can vote at the mainpage (www.ABLEns.net) for the upcomings CUP teamsize and type of map

so if you want smaller teams next time, log in and vote for it

10v10 because it's different? Is the game balanced on 10v10? It sounds like it would be horribly marine-biased. If aliens hold 3 nodes that's 3 res every 4 seconds, so in 12-16 seconds everyone gets 1 res. This means fades will take around 5 minutes (12*25). This is all while marines tech up at about the normal speed... But then aliens also start off with 250 res all together. That's got to count for something... I've never played a 10v10 but it really looks like aliens would be a lot slower, and devestated by a well-organized marine team.

its not the first cup, and its much more balanced than 6v6 gathers

i can just advise you to have a closer look instead of "hm, maybe its marine based because.....", "hm, resflow seems to be ######...." etc, because else you'll have a completly wrong imagin of the cup

and i dont want to discuss about this 10v10 balancing issue again - i can just tell you that its much more balanced than 6v6 and the system of the 1st cup (which also is the one of the 2nd) succeeded greatly, and thats why its beeing used for the 2nd aswell

Please, there's no reason to be defensive. I really just want to understand how a 10v10 plays, how the balance works, what are successful strategies. I can't do much with "10v10 is much better than 6v6 because it is and I don't want to talk about it".
