I went to the game stores nearby my home, I asked for buying half life 1 because i want to play this mod, however the shopkeepers laugh at me and said it is no longer for sale and it is outdated , and he advised me to buy half life 2.In this case , I can't play this mod.I think many people don't have credit cards or they are not willing to buy old things will never play this mod , but this mod is very good, it is a pitty that the players of this mod will keep decreasing due to the outdate of engine.Did you heard about tremulous, it is a fps+rts like this game although the graphic and gameplay is not as good as ns, but it is getting famous, because it is using an engine that all players able to download easily.My advices, 1.make this mod walk with the time, make hl2 or cs:cz able to play this. 2.Make it standalone.Otherwise, many people will not able to have a try to this brilliant game, like me.

There's a HL2 version in progress, and to buy over steam just ask your parents to lend you their credit card, and pay them back.

Yeah Half-Life 1 is so easy to buy over Steam. You are lucky HL1 is even sold anymore and most people today has some sort of credit card or another way to to pay that Steam accepts. Didn't they open up for PayPal for some games? I don't see the big problem.

Try another store?

Most stores around me still sell Half-Life, unfortunately I think the shop owner you talked to is quite naive. Check around at other stores if possible. Maybe explain to him that graphics are not everything

Yeah, pretty much every store around where I live still sells HL1 in a bundle with TFC, counterstrike, blue shift, opposing force and whatnot. That shopkeeper is dumb.

HL2 version in progress? when will it be release?

HL1 is still available in the shops, in boxed form. It is usually in the 'two games for €20' section. Pretty much every store here in Cork still stock it, along with hundreds of other 'classic' games.

I think that anyone who wants to play NS will not have a problem getting hold of half-life.
