I downloaded NS installer v32,I ran it and it said setup has not detected a valid steam install,do you wish to continue?I swear i had steam installed properly and I clicked yes. I installed the program to C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\hkwh\half-life 2 , I restarted steam. I checked my game list , NS is not appear on the list. I go to check C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\hkwh\half-life 2\ns , there is no *.EXE files inside.
what should I do?Please give me a solution, thanks. nerd-fix.gif

it should be in half-life/ folder, not in half-life 2/.

you mean half life 2 is not allow to play this mod?
I have counterstrike , conditional zero , day of defeat , half-life 2 , half life 2 deathmatch , counter-strike source , can I play NATURAL SELECTION? I must have half life 1 installed instead of half life 2???
Depot
You must have HL1 installed and activated before installing Natural Selection, yes.

thats sad, i just bought hl2 yesterday and i dont have hl1...and i wont be buy hl1 for this mod coz its too waste money . I thought hl1 is going to be outdated... I heard somebody on the internet said this mod is works on counter-strike too?

Since you do have Condition Zero, you might be able to get it working. (and side note: Who cares how outdated the HL engine is, it's the gameplay that is important!)

See this topic (scroll down a lot) to see how to get it working with CS:CZ: http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index....showtopic=90801

6. NS Without Half-Life (CS:CZ REQUIRED)
-------------------------------------------------
Assuming you are reading this section, You do not own the origional Half-Life. But this does not mean you have to live without Natural-Selection... That is, if you do own Counter-Strike: Condition Zero. This mini-tutorial will show you what to do to trick steam into playing Natural-Selection for you.

1. Broswe to your account directory. (i.e. C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\email@site.com)

2. Find the folder called Condition Zero. Copy it. So, now your account directory has "Condition Zero" and "Copy of Condition Zero."

3. Rename "Copy of Condition Zero" to "half-life" exactly as I have it written.

4. Double click your new half-life folder, and delet the "cstrike" and the "czero" folders.

5. Install NS here, like you would normally (Section 5 covers that.)

6. Open up your Play Games menu. Right-click on Condition Zero, and click "Creae desktop shortcut." Press OK when it notifies you that it made a shortcut to CS:CZ on your desktop.

7. Right-Click the new shortcut on your desktop, and click properties. Now, replace the text in the "Target" text box with this text:
CODE
"C:\Program Files\Steam\Steam.exe" -applaunch 70 -game "ns"

Make sure that it will target your Steam.exe (it differs for computers.) When you are done, click OK.

From now on, whenever you want to play Natural-Selection, click on the icon on your desktop, and it should work.

I followed every steps of that instructions , but when I click the shortcut on desktop, it didnt activate the ns , but the shop and advertisment of Half-life 1 appeared , $9.95 dollars... confused-fix.gif
