Full Version: Players don't collide with mines

As much fun as it is making mine ladders, I don't think players should collide with mines. It's really annoying as a fade to blink into one and not only take damage, but you get stopped because the game seems to think it has a vertical height of at least 2 feet. It's also annoying on marines when you try to jump back away from a skulk and you touch the mine you were baiting him onto and you jump straight up instead which lets him get a bite or two in.

You could just make them like a func_illusionary, but when players touch the set area, the mine explodes.

We used to have this, but marines would put >9000 mines in the same spot, instantly killing any lifeform.

since then though, mines were given a 'personal space'. You can only place mines a certain distance away from other mines. It used to be that they would go side by side.

I understand the complaint. My personal dislike is when mines are placed on upward ramps; they actually stop marines movement.

But, frankly, mine ladders are too much fun. I'm fine with them being how they are. The removal of mine ladders would honestly be a strategic nerf sad-fix.gif

Then make it so mines are solid only when on walls, and also only on the top side, so that they can't be used to block ladders.

but then we would have the old problem for the exeption areas, where we could place a trillion mines into one spot for a instant minekill.

ah the days.. instant minekilling a onos. tounge.gif

actually it was 5 mines for a fade trap, and 10 mines for an onos trap. Aaaah 2.0
