i would like to see the marines drop however much pistol ammo they are carrying at the time upon death along with their primary weapon. the pistol is the quickest gun to deplete its ammo, and its pretty important to keep loaded.

I could be wrong, but I think this (not dropping pistols) is officially considered a glitch rather than a feature.

Remember it was only a few versions ago that you started dropping LMG ammo. It used to just be purchased weapons.

I'm pretty sure its something with the HL engine. Only primary weapons get dropped. The same thing happens in CS.

Not dropping the pistol itself might be considered a bug, but not dropping Pistol Ammo was definitely a design consideration. The decision was made that droping primary ammo was a pretty significant buff, and dropping pistol ammo too would be overkill.

Actually as I recall the ammo was "inside" all of the weapons before this change. So if you had an HMG with 0 bullets and walked over a fallen HMG that had 125 loaded + 250 spare, you wouldn't pick anything up. Unless of course you dropped your HMG and grabbed the other.

so this cant be changed?? sad-fix.gif

LOL.. I remember.

Sometimes you were dropping/grabbing weapons in midfight from the battlefield only to realise you grabbed a empty one. biggrin-fix.gif
SnipeStar
so would this be more plausible for NS2?
