Yah I went to bestbuy bought counter strike 1 anthology and it came with steam so i figured I would be able to play this game right? I mean i installed it and everything and its not showig up on games list...

You need Half Life to run this game (nb. not HL2)
You need Half-Life to be able to play it. They now sell counter-strike as a game instead of a mod. Kind of like if you just buy Half-Life that includes access to all HL mods except for Counter-strike.
