Motion tracking doesn't take long to get and once the marines have it, the ability of skulks to ambush/flank/surprise drops way down. I suggest making motion tracking only detect life forms when they make sounds so silence becomes much more viable for lerks and fades, and skulks would be able to ambush while walking.
If motion tracking is vital to the marines to the point these changes would be unacceptable, I also suggest removing the resource cost to research it so it becomes 'free' but wouldn't be used to spot the hive location of the aliens at the start of the round because of the time required to research.

But MT is the counter to silence. Marines start with 100 res, so if they rushed MT, they'd be left with a measly 15 res - I honestly don't see why there is so much opposition to MT, because it is far from a guaranteed victory.

It makes first chamber SC useless.

if the comm notices that they use sc (min 30 sec) until than aliens can use cloaking. after it they get focus and ambush, coz if the comm starts mt he doesent have money for armor, if he starts armor, he doesent have money for mt, and mt is slow to research.

I hate MT with a passion. Because skulks rely so much on stealth and are the most common lifeforms in the game MT destroys most of their usefulness. I wish it wouldn't track skulks that had silence.

SC is the counter to MT, not the other way around. A walking cloaker doesn't show up on MT. Armor is the counter to SC.

txs txs txs.. I keep saying that and all the newbies always say I am wrong. But it is so true. a SC grid will make MT a serious waste of res which can be better spend on armor

sc>mt . . . . no one pays any attention to that, they're always like "sc! get mt quick!"
The problem is that mt +scan >> sc. or more generally, scan > sc. make it so the mt obs can't scan, or make scan cost res.

I thought that MT could track any moving alien, cloaked or not. Could someone clarify that for me?
Really, the only defense to MT is to stand perfectly still (which is good for camping and ambushes). I do think that silence should inhibit MT a bit, since if silence supposedly refines the muscle movements of the alien to avoid making noise, then those refined movements would be harder for the motion tracking to detect too.

MT is made to specifically counter Silence. That will not change.
If you are cloaked and you WALK, you will not show up on MT. Use that to your advantage.

and if you are cloaked by SC instead a upgrade you will never show on MT, how fast ya move

That is true. Energy regenerations quick enough for a scan once every minute(?). Also, the Observatory doesn't cost much res(Only 20 res) and an extra Obs in key locations such as an alien hive or double destroys cloaking in those areas(obviously).
An extra Obs mean extra scannings which means less cloak.

MT is pretty lame tbh. It sucks to play against it, and it makes playing marines damn near effortless.
Get rid of MT and get rid of silence?

Scan is the issue, it always has been, you set up a ambush, it works once, coms all over it, makeing mental notes of alien life forms and so on, coms also watching where aliens go do they A wait to restealth, or B move forwards a choke point or C move back a choke point, at which point you know droping a scan will remove any doupt of slow stleath moveing aliens in option B and will allow rines to move up and take said choke point, ether by killing them aliens unless they went for C, which means you already achived your desired effect and pushed them back two choke points.
Scan needs to slowly disipate stealth onlife forms, but as it does it still shouldnt, A make them visable to commander or rine mini map / maps, until that alien moves, it needs that slow delay timer for aliens to go hey if i move i give away the fact that i am above the door.
The other option is, when a scan goes off it cancels out motion tracking for said window, in turn it helps the rines in the fire fight, but com loses alien motion dots, and tail end rines lose motion dots, unless you pyshcaly in the fire fight line of sight spoting aliens, your pritty blue circles of garrentee kill disapear for the 30 second window.
Acctuly that last suggestion would be hella easy to implment.

motion is so expensive and takes long to research. its still one of the strongest upgrades but still, whats mt against lerks and fades? yeah, maybe you can trap one, but you will probably not kill them without ups. mt costs almost as much as a protolab does, why dont you start that has or jps are too strong?
seriously, if the marines can easily afford mt, the game is pretty much lost for the aliens (well, maybe not if the second hive just got up, but it will be harder)
a good scan can be more effective than mt in some situations, since it costs no res and can do the same effect (i.e. building a pg)
