Played a game where some tool decided to purposefully stand on nodes so we couldnt cap them.
Let RTs always be cappable, and just add a small pushback to it, like IPs and PGs, please

*EDIT:
This was brought up further down in the discussion. Forget the times where people purposefully block them. A much better argument is for when marines/skulks ACCIDENTALLY block their team from capping. It wouldnt work on opposing teams; a marine could still block a gorge from dropping. But, a newb too close to the res node would now be bumped off of it just a bit, when its being dropped.

Any push-back would probably destroy any chance of lone skulks hitting rts.. If you disabled the pushback after the building, maybe.

Obviously. I just meant a pushback for the instant that the rt is dropped.
The example i gave was a *MARINE* standing on an *OPEN RESOURCE NODE*, so me, as the comm, couldn't cap it.
Its a very small bug, but its definitely exploitable by pubbers who want to piss off the comm.

Push marine players slightly aside on the instant the RT is dropped to prevent exploiting. Sounds good to me!

I guess aliens would want it to affect aliens too, in the cases of dumb/annoying skulks standing on rts as well.
BUT... you'd have to make sure that the opposite team would not be pushed back. I.e., a marine could still block a gorge from dropping the node.

Well, the aliens i think are able to drop the node even if someone is standing on it. I know I can place a node as a gorge even when I'm on the node.
I vote
yes to this idea, countless times I had people spamming the order request button for a res node I cant drop because they were standing on it.

Its funny, cuz i actually completely forgot about that much more common aspect of this issue.
I was only thinking about when people purposefully stand on the node; ive been playing for so long that its natural for me to stand perfectly outside of the placement zone, to the point where i forget how many newbs dont do the same. It happens all the time when i comm, too.
Excellent point, a much better one than my original. This suggestion just got a lot more support

I am 100% saying yes because it's the most annoying thing in the world when they stand on uncapped nodes.

on second thought.. I will change my vote from a perhaps to a sure hell yes.
It is annoying for n00bs to block the nodes

I remember that it was possible to drop RTs on nodes even with players on the nodes. Gorges and marines could walk out of the node, but not back in. I really don't see why this has been taken out, it was more practical and I don't think it could be abused so much.
