Hi i like the mod. playing off updated CS retail. Open GL. GF4. I get into the game and can play and shoot things as the basic player and stuff but when i press R M button all i get is overwritten white words in the top left of the screen, not the nice menu as expected from the tutorial. Any thoughts?

lol i posted the exact same thing man, i have that same problem dunno what to do either
hopefully we get some reply's its annoying as hell not being able to build or evolve the right way
i ended up assigning keys got aliens but still doesnt work well becuase i ran outta keys and dont know which morph is which still , still rather new to the game
but hopefully we will get the fixed soon!

So we can do some real muahhahaha

You 2 are the only ones that I have seen this bug from, and I mod the forums and run IRC.... Must be something with your video drivers? Are those updated and all?

yea even went and downloaded another driver and reinstalled to the old drivers (tried it with old and new)
neither are working , and there is another guy that posted about this problem too... i think his name was spike88

ive looked all over this site/forums for anything about this and only the ppl ive seen reply to mine have it which is id say about 4 ppl.

I also had the same problem when i first installed NS, it also came along with numerous other problems including crashes to the desktop and the GUI of the aliens resource and enery bars not becoming transparent leaving a bright purple background. After deleting my NS folder in my halflife directory I reinstalled and everything worked fine. I am using a Gefore2MX with the 30.82 drivers installed, 400mb ram, windowsXP Home, 800X600 opengl, 1.7Ghz and of course the latest version of HL 1.1.1.0.

after a couple days of experimenting with my comp, uninstall and reinstall 3 dif times the drivers the game and hl included

Yep me too, same problem... i have a TNT2 vid card running in software mode... i still havent tried the other modes but im going to test now... will update in a jiffie... Thank god im not alone with this prob... btw i DO have the latest drivers

Lol, I think he'll keep his GeForce 4 for now.

i have to use software mode or my comp gets really lagy so maybe thats the problem wid me and my commander veiw is laggy and there is no cursor to log out so i have to press f4 and go back to the ready room

I had this exact same problem, as did a few people I met online. In addition to not seeing the popup menus, I couldn't see the mouse pointer in commander mode, the masking on the alien HUD was buggy, and the marines' mini-map hardly worked at all. I finally got it to work, but I don't know quite how. All I can do is tell you what worked for me. I have an Intel 82815 graphics card - hardly the top of the line. I updated my drivers and switched Half-Life's video mode to Direct 3D rendering, and that made everything work as it should. Hope this helps!

When helping a user sove this probem yesterday I reccomended that he change his video mode from OpenGL to Direct3d, once he did that the menu worked fine. Try that.

Ok i just switched to d3d and it works fine... I think it has to do with video modes incompatible with video cards on this particular mod...
