I've got a job now though, and that takes up the time I'd normally spend on projects like this. However, a friend of mine and I are working on an audio compression format, so you might see that in the next month or so.

Another format? Christ I can barely keep up with mp3/4, WAV, WMA, OGG, AAC and have players for them and there are so many formats with so many 'benefits' of which the 'better' lack popularity and converters and so forth. You may just be wasting your time I'm afraid

Actually, my correlation could very well be completely correct. For all you and I know, he's creating an audio format for the experience, and perhaps the fun of it and nothing more. Programming, like map making can be done "for the heck of it" you know. I suppose I should have been more clear, so you'll have to pardon my subtle wit. I apologize if it makes you feel better.

I was kind of hoping you would make another map because you were one of the few who took so much community feedback on the map when making ns_shiva.

I'm mostly doing it because signal processing turns me on. It also has a decent chance of being better than anything else out there. There's been a ton of research about the technique we are using, mostly about how it appears to be how our ears encode sound before sending it to the brain, but no one has made a compression format out of it yet.

Understand that. Would be sad if we don´t see anything new of yours. And please don´t do it like me:

visiting school (again) for a more advanced graduation + half time job to pay my bills (and a much more time consuming in the automotive sector comming) + girlfriend + primary hobby (airsoft, very time and money consuming)= no more time for gaming anymore (not to mention mapping)

Makes me kinda sad though...
