first off, hi me, and another friend have just "discovered" NS and started earlier today vs each other, and a friend who plays, after our friend went and became a ######, and wouldnt teach us jack-all, instead cheap-killed us constantly, we broke off, and went 1 on 1, which we learned alot but i still feel if we joined any normal game, we would get our butt's KICKED. so i got few things to ask, first off, is their anyone who could spare 30 mins to a hour, to sit down with me and my friend, and give us advice, tell us what were doing wrong, etc, so we can capitalize on those problems before joining a game, and possibly causing our team to lose i mean, we know how to use levels, buildings, etc, but the actually "strategy" behind all this is non-existent lol, next off being once we get good enough, where is a decent server of FRIENDLY players we could play with? i HATE cs due to majority of servers u go on, and get HORRIBLY insulted/dissed if u slip up once, really kills the want, to bother playing lol so far, we love NS, it's great game just when we go into a server with 8 vs 8, or more, we dont want to royally suck so any assistance, advice, etc, would also be helpful

hiya, i do not live in europe i do originate from england if that counts? lets just say im not american either hehe ill definetly consider your quick offer, i must wait for my friend to pop on, and explain to him what i got planned (he doesnt know im doing this hehe ;P) he thought NS would suck, till he played, now he's addicted haha. currently 3 am here, so ill have to contact ya after i wake up most confusing thing thus far for me, was the marine CC, but i got the hang of that very fast, i see marines are much more based on a very good commander, and team work, while the aliens are more loosely based. which is a intresting diffrence. anywho, enough rambling, bbt er... today.. whatever >_<

dont mean to multi-post, but.. Im Curious if anyone can direct me to a Friendly Server who wont insult 2 new-players if they screw up i mean, were not hopelessly new trust me. but no where near a good player

I'd suggest playing on an Alien Bots server

For instance:
Marine Trainer1
Marine Trainer2

And then from there, play until you feel comfortable with the Marines.
Then try out the Aliens.

haha, ty for the info grey, i sifted through all the stuff, and even did that little tutorial map thing, i learned over-all nothing i didnt presume/know/do already looks like my main issue is simple raw battle exp learn how enemys move, what players do, etc. also those servers u mentioned i do not see anywhere lol, i hopped about on few servers i thought might work, but none did. and yes, i know about witchbot. im unable to get it to run correctly on my computer, as im guessing i need to dl a server, and run it my self

allow me to re-state my self, AGAIN, as it seems this community is lacking any helpful players at all from what i seen... IS THEIR any servers in existence, that are not full of ignorant ######'s who pick on new players. i've asked this 3 time, and get ignored, and u wonder why NS is dieing out...if their was reliable help for new players, it would likly spawn more players staying, but it's not my mod, so i dont give 2 craps

Hey, what the hell? You really have quite a change of opinion. Listen... The only way to get good in this game is trough hard work, sweat, blood and maybe watching demos from time to time. But if you are going to Act like a little kindergarden kid and state that ALL of our servers are filled with ###### and further stating that our mod is dying. Then i guess most ppl don't want to help you. OF COURSE you suck the first times you play a new game. But you also get better over time.

I remember from my starting days when i had almost no killcount at all. But instead of wreaking my havoc upon the community for not playing the game for me, I continued playing. And after a while i got better and better and even got + stats.

My advice to you is to stay friendly and search for low crowded servers with players with equal stats.

And stay away from higly crowded Xmenu Superservers With Buildmenu because most of the players there are invunurable with 9999 hp and 3000 Regen per sec.

If you keep playing you would eventually get good....

And btw: NS is far from dying. We actually got a slowly growing community...

You do not have to use scripts for everything to be good...
