here it goes. the map name is going to be ns_battlefist. basically, red halls are vents, yellow dots are resource nodes, red dots are hives, and the green dot is the command chair.

Briefing Room is ridiculous.

Think of Veil. Yeah, double is pretty key. But at least you can still get around it if you need to, either by vent (underneath) or just running past it (though you will see at least see into double quickly).

The distances also seem a bit out of whack... its supposed to take 30-35 seconds (roughly) to go from MS to each hive, and from each hive to each other hive. It looks like you could go from the outside hives to the middle in like 15 seconds.

Aside from that, theres not much to really say without seeing in-game designs or at least a more detailed layout. Good start though.

If you are approaching things from a layout first way (as opposed to a pretty things first approach) then I recommend making basic layout in hammer and testing travel times. you could even test balance with some friends.

about the hive distances... you think i should add more detours between them? i was originally going for the basic box, having the MS at 1 corner, hives at the other, but even going streight through the center (double) it would not be equil to the other hive distances.

ive had this question in my head the whole day, so, i was wondering... how wide should i make my hallways? is 128x128 too small or should i try with 192x192 or even 256x256?

oh, and i also need to know what a good height for marine start and hives would be. thx.

as soon as i get this answered i will start on the map ^_^

oh, and the thing about double... i was wanting double to be a high aggression area, but is it too crazy to have my map as it is?

edit: does this fix the double problem? the western hallway is actually going under the vent.
