I am looking forward to code a NaSe-Warbot.

This Programm makes a UDP-connection to a NS-Gameserver and with the rcon of the server this programm can get the serverlog. Now the Game-Server send the logs(Gameevents from the match and server) to this Programm.
The programm converts the messages from the server and reads the important part, which will be send to an IRC Channel.

This kind of programm exists (e.g. hlsw), but not for NS.

Right now the code is ready to contact a gameserver and read the log. Now i have to know the whole messages, but i found nothing with google and this is the problem i need a ns-gameserver + rcon, to parse the messages. Nobody on the Server will notice anything.

Peoples have to play on the server, to see the messages i need.

So I would be glad, if somebody would support this project,

best wishes,

look up csbot over on sourceforge, it has NS support. The project is in deep hibernation right now, but the last time I looked at it ( when I was helping get it ready for the CPL ) it supported NS fairly well.

It is GPL, so you'll be able to base your project off of it. Talk to Eternal_Bliss here too, he was also involved in the project and might still be interested.

Oh, and you do not need players to test it. You just need a few log files. You can hook some unit test code in below your rcon system to feed your parser with log lines. This is the only efficient way to do development testing. Leave the live server testing until you are happy with your unit testing.
