You knew it was coming.. With all the reference to Zerg, you just knew that eventually someone was going to make a StarCraft Marine as heavy armor since they move so damn slow anyway. Maximum of 10MPH.. sheesh.

So who want's to make one? biggrin.gif

10 mph? That's one hyper fast slow marine

(4 mph is normal jogging speed, 8 and above is sprinting)
Got_Lag
Yeah, I can't wait for the StarCraft model pack (it's inevitable).

Oh, and hi from the FA forum, Vecdran!
Cyborgguineapig
DAMN!DAMN!
Windelkron
One could concievably turn NS into a FPS starcraft if they tried hard enough.

But HA and Marine Armor would work very well. I always loved the marine armor anyway.

Lerk = Hydras with wings + Defiler abilities
Bird_of_Prey
That would be awsome to have!

If you haven't finished Warcraft3 on hard, don't read this

I had the Idea of taking the marine model from the starcraft scene at the end and using that, but I can't get a conversion to work. I'm afraid it'll be too low poly. are there starcraft marine backgrounds? Hell, we could ask blizzard if they've got one we could use. biggrin.gif

Its quite a hard job...

The thing is you could only convert the model itself, the bones arn't at all the same as the heavy marines' ones...

What you'll have to do is take the heavymarine model and decompile it. Then take the base model and get rid of the polys and just keep the bones. Take the wiii model of the space marine and resize it to fit the bones. Attach the model to its new bones, then recompile it using the heavyarmour's animations...

its probably the easiest way of converting the model...

anyway theres surely a space marine model somewhere for halflife (or one of its mods), that would be easyly converted to ns...
Xanieth
You could go get the Warhammer 40k space marine model for Unreal Tournament and convert it to NS. I saw it over at Polycount.com.
BiTMAP
or someone who models could make there own!! :O!
Akiro
one thing about taking the wc3 marine from the end...... copyright violations. you DEFINITLY should ask them before you would use that, cause if they are anything like FOX interactive they will throw a god dam fit...... you'd think they'd take pride in people liking there work or trying to imitate it but if natural selection came anything close like to realy looking like AvP we would not have the mod at the moment.
Flying-Bastard
If you want to use teh model from wc3, first there would be some copyright probs, but if u want, since its low-poly, i think there is a program with those radeon 8500 etc that can make models have more polys (TRUEFORM thingny with a "patcher" to "patch" models and make them more detailed).

Milkshape3d has a option to make a model looks smoother and less jagged, which = more poly.

here's a Quake II model of a Terran Marine:
