I suggest that aliens should have hivesight while gestating. currently, all aliens can see when they are gestating is the pink membrane but no hivesight. I think it would be useful for the person who is gestating. Like you can see which RT is under attack when you are gestating and once you have finished gestating, you can rush to that RT. Or little things like that. And it doesn not make the egg less vulnerable.
I used the search function but came up with nothing. So im sorry if there is already an idea on this.

I'm pretty sure that allowing hivesight would also allow you to see parasites, and SoF-detected marines... plus it adds to the whole feeling of utter defenselessness.
Of course, being able to see the marines coming wouldn't really help since you're still an immobile wannabe omelette.

I like this idea I was waiting for some one to post the question.
But say your egg in a vent and you see some parasighted marines go past to set up a phasegate at your hive does this change anything?
Personally I think it should be allowed but it does conflict with the realism that your changing into something and you should be sleeping/in a comba and unaware of your surroundings.
It's up to the devs.

It would be handy to have the full hud even, gestating gives you some good time to check up on how the team's going. Yet the 'uselessness' of an egg is good for atmoshpere.

oops. sorry that it has been suggested b4. looks like i need to practice using the search function.
i didnt think that this feature would make the egg less vulnerable.

lol realism.. if my mind is correct you can still call up the map for whenever you need it. So theres one aspect of this already in the game otherwise for "consitancy" sake I say you shouldn't have have Hivesight while gestating.

Personally, I like the idea of hivesight, but no view, so instead of translucent egg shell, all you see is egg-shell or blackness, plus what's on hive-sight.

I agree with this mod to the idea. Would also help people learn the hivesight icons. The reason being that you are blind but can still "sense" the presences of enemies and allies. I'd also like to add that when you are an egg you get the underwater environmental effect at a 75% volume decrease (total audio output reduced to 75% and then EAX applied, that way it is muffled but you don't get hideous earsplitting popping noises from redlining, like most games) I'd also suggest instead of one gestate noise you get three:
- going into gestation
- in gestation
- hatching from gestation (in addition to your class "roar")
with all of that I think that would be a pretty cool tweak, so...

Similiar idea here:
http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index....showtopic=88909Yes, it's a good idea to give aliens the same exact HUD that they have when they aren't egging.

EAX can crash my system sometimes... my onboard sound appears to be allegic to it.
As long as EAX is not forced I'm happy enough.
Other wise I like this idea.. so Thumbs up (yup I'm doing a U turn)
