Well, after seeing the following marine concept in another thread:

I took a shine to the gun, so i decided to start modelling it. PC is waaaaaayyyy too high right now (Dunno exactly, but i'm sure it is) but i've made some progress tonight.

I'm pretty sure it'll make an LMG replacement, due to the ungodly sized clip at the back, but it's been a total pain working from what little reference i have. Bleh.
More updates soon.

Well, after a minor f**k-up, i'm working on it again, after a poly count pre-optimisation, it's sitting around 850 poly or so, which is great news, i figured it was much higher. I'm aiming for about a 1500 poly target for this, but i've doubts it'll even be that much.

Grip nowhere near done (So ignore that entire area), proportions need some work, smoothing groups not done, strap not done, detail work not done, optimising not done. PC is around the 1300 mark, but with all the optimisation there is to do, this will drop quite radically.
Also moved the ejection port to the other side.

EDIT: 10 cigarettes and 4 beers, i'm done for tonight.

imho it should be a pistol or shotgun (if you disregarded the buttstock and clip)
however very nice, i was gonna attempt this myself but i dont have much time on my hands, so good job ^_^

Well it's too big for a pistol, and the clip size is WAAAAAAAY too big for pistol, unless it's an anti-tank pistol, that is....
Shotgun, well, i don't care if it's a shotgun, i'm not gonna even bother trying to work out how to make a shottie reload using a clip.
That leaves HMG and LMG. Given it's size i'd say either way is fair game really.

i meant if you didnt model it with a clip, or the ending buttstock area. IE: only modelling what's outlined in red.

honestly i think that it should be a pistol - it looks like one in the concept and so it should be. pistol packs the most punch, so it really should have the size to go along with it

Personally i think it's an LMG all the way, that clip holds far more than just 7 bullets, but isn't entirely long enough (imo) for a HMG.
it looks gorgeous too esuna, really nice work you've done on it mate

And dreal has said that he's interested in skinning it - this just gets better by the minute!

Hah, far from abandoned. I only started it at about 10pm and it's now 4am.
I'm just not going to work on it any more tonight.
As for progress, the grip etc still needs a hell of a lot of work, the pivot for the stock will be changed from that crappy cylinder to something more like in the concept, the PC will drop drastically from what it is now (~1900 :o).
Then, the model will be done.

Please make this a pistol!
Or maybe a welder?
It NEEDS to be some kind of handgun!
A hand held GL perhaps?
a 10 shot, .50 cal caseless hollow tip round with MegNeTex Anti-Armor technology would explain the size of the weapon (they are BIG freaking SHELLS... made to penetrate ONLY body armor and then mushroom out, blowing a nice hole in the subjects body)

if your refering to tri or poly or quad give me a sec and ill explain
tri = triangle
a tri is a face with 3 corners most models in games are made of tris its what the computer processes to make the shapes/models you see in the game they are all put together by a bunch of triangles esunas model is made up of 1595 tri's which means it took 1595 triangles to make up that object the higher this number the more it affects performance
poly = polygon
a polygon is a face that is made up of 4 or more corners some of the new engines use these instead of tris for example if you have a square it counts as a single polygon but you can also make up that square with 2 tri's the half life engine builds everything of tris so it breaks squares, hexagons etc into triangles so this number is even higher
in summary the higher the number the worse performance

btw nice work esuna looks alot more then 1595 tris

but, if used right, the higher the number, the better the viewage (hot smexy models can be both low or high poly.. depends how well made they are... most I did was a 500,000 poly box... that was funny as HELL... till my laptop crashed as a result XD)
