i follow quad!! ms3d for models, photoshop for skins

i use 3d studio max maya is bleh plus not really for low poly modeling (not saying u cant)

I can't model to save my life, but I'd say Photoshop is the best for skinning.

MS3D, for me, oh, and I can't believe no ones using Paint Shop Pro 7!

LightWave 5.6 or trueSpace4 for the majority, MS3D to convert. Skinning would have to be Photoshop, or even better, The Gimp. Handy functions for making all kinds of textures.
