You've seen the pics in other threads. You know what the weapons look like.

Del just gave me permission to pass it around, so here it is. The formerly t2k exclusive Necrosis ALIENS style v weapon pack.

Please note, monkeys, that it includes suggested player models to match the v weapons, and that said player models contain some changes and cleanups- so don't be tempted to assume they're the same as the ones you have.

like usual, i've got it, and i download everything i see... i'll put it up on the brotherhood server... which isn't the best, but it's handy sometimes

and this by no-means signals that this pack is exclusive... (AKA, you can ignore the readme bout the exclusive stuff)

I would have liked to have kept it exclusive in order to gain you some funding (would have done the same with my forthcoming Starcraft v weapons).

Its generous of you to not only allow its release to the community but also to actively provide a link.

I totally forgot to credit MalambisBZ, whose translucent acid rocket is used as the spike in the Lerk v weapon.

hey the onos v model is a little wierd how does a wierd tougne thing wack people to death

Define "weird tongue thing".



Because when I use it, I see the Onos inner jaws slamming forward into whatever I attack. You know, like in the films and the games? Secondly, due to the way the onos anims work, the gore, charge, and stomp anims must all contain the same idle - thus the only thing that would fit all three attacks is the inner jaws.

You'll note the inner jaws are utilised for spike/spore/umbra attacks as well as the fade acid rocket.

ohh, i know why... eveil website #2 removed all readme's when putting up tiehr site, so not only are we missing that little fact, but we are also missing the modeler... i hated it when people did that on their sites, and i swore an oath never to do that on mine.... but well *sniff sniff*

Sorry DD, I was going by the readme I had with the models I had - I presumed them to be accurate.

I'll add the credit to my "master" pack but IMHO you need to email the current hosters in this thread to get them to change theirs.

It seems you're in there. There's no specifics on it, but the skulk readme had no specifics either. In fact I believe your contact info and website (if any) should ALSO be listed in my readme. You did check the readme before asking? I'd hate to think people are removing my readme mad.gif

I was very big on A|iens models back in the day, but then i got tired of ebign killed becuase i didn't see the ALL black skulk XD

Lo folks, no its not threadomancy, its just that I'm planning a V3 of sorts to this pack.

Basically what you've seen so far - the fixed onos, fade, etc, but with my OWN version of the skins using transparent blue. Finally got Photoshop reinstalled so I can alter hue to make the Runner teeth look better, and actually set the transparent blue stuff so I can get see through textures.


So what will you get in the new pack?


All the v weapons you've come to love for the Aliens models. Fully compatible with both 2.0 and 3.0 NS

Aliens models using Daphisto's classic skins but with the added transparency so that their backs are spiky, the teeth look like teeth, etc.

Tweaked animations so that the hive doesn't bounce around like mad.

New stuff -

Permission allowing, you'll have the GREEN fade claws from t2k BUT in a 2-3 NS compatible format. Including acid rocket!

Act of God allowing, we might even have the Predator Fade if I can find anyone who can SKIN THE BLOODY HANDS. Ahem.

Yes I'm bumping an old thread because I don't want 1500 new people digging up several threads about the same pack. So I update this ONE.

Pack progress going well - Red runner is all optimised up, now I'm doing the ALTERNATES, namely a BLACK runner for you black pack nutters and a greeny-blue fade to go with those greeny claws.

Actually I was going to re-use my black runner teeth reskin and have it in as an "option" along with the black pack Runner, which I would tweak to utilise transparencies.

Thusly -

Red runner plus weapons
Greeny fade plus weapons
Black runner plus weapons
Black fade plus weapons

etc etc etc.

Just giving the punters a bit of variety.

They're all easy things to do, so to be honest the one I really want to finish is the Predator Fade, but I'd need a proper mesher/skinner person to have a pop at that one. The v model hands need a total overhaul.










Off topic - additives make it far too see-through for it to look "right". Bummer eh?

Hmm, wouldnt the Marine go better with the Predator? Since theyre supposed to be fast, agile, but if you do make the Predator a fade, maybe you could try making the Acid Rocket a Plasmacaster, Metabolize the Medicomp, and Slash the Wristblades. Just dishin out suggestions..

Suggestions aren't needed.

I have a plasmacaster for acid rocket, I have the acid rocket to match, and I have wristblades.

Just need a mesher/skinner person to make it look like Predator hands and not guffy HL suit ones.









Besides, I get it working for fade and it means someone else could tweak it to marine.








On topic - As it stands I have everything done thats the bones of the pack - all Aliens, all their v weapons, and a hive. No egg, but thats available elsewhere already and there's nothing I could do to really improve on it (other than fixing the strange incongruity of the texture).

They're not unskinned, just badly skinned.



The HANDS need remapped and reskinned, ideally to match the body. Once thats done, I can ask permission from the original modeller and release this to you onions.

Its official, LithUnwrap hurts my head.


I can't UV map those hands at all. Its not too bad with the hand part, but the fingers are where it goes nuts.





Anyone fancy the headbending task of UV mapping the hands and then skinning it, finding a skinner, or handing it back to me to hand to a skinner?

OK I sort of need either:


Someone with Milkshape and the willingness to turn a clenched fist into an open hand so that I can attempt to unwrap it and then find someone to skin it.

OR

Someone with unbelievable patience in unwrapping clenched fists, who can do it and hand it back to me so I can find a skinner

OR

Someone with Milkshape who knows how to UV map so I can hand it to a skinner

OR

Someone who can do the whole thing.









If you fit this criteria, then for the LOVE OF BETSY WILL YOU PRIVATE MESSAGE ME. Those fingers are impossible for me as a beginner in LithUnwrap. I HAVE TRIED. A planar unwrap on the Y axis gives me a decent wrist and then a hellish mess of a clenched fist. There's no bones to animate to straighten the hand out! I CAN DO NOTHING TO THESE MODELS.

Honestly, its not laziness, its just the fact that I can't get my head around UV mapping and I don't have the requisite time to spend on learning from scratch just to modify this set of models........ models which in all likelihood I will not be touching again.

Yeah, I've been working at it all day and I can sort of split the fingers out, but they're still unrecognisable.

I think I'm going to just remove those hands, keep the armbands, put in the NS defaults and reskin them. Then its a matter of animating in notepad.

Still, long runs the fox.

Here's how the main pred model is going. Using other people's models I've managed to put all the p weapons onto the player model - remember, I'm aiming for this to be a fade.

Eagle eyed viewers will notice the use of transparency in order to make the targeter glow a little.

Meanwhile, I've been using an FA model to get hands I can attempt to skin.

GG modder of one.

Anyhow, you can see an age old problem reasserting itself - the models are floating off the bone, and this time aren't aligned properly to boot.

The virtually onemanpredpack continues. Meh.


The heavy pred wasn't skinned properly by its creator. Its hand textures are really parts of the armour, for some reason the UV is on the wrong texture.


Its mostly animated, except for the knees. There's holes all over the model, again I think due to the UV mapping.




The v weapons have had nothing done to them, I think the hands need upscaling. And new skins, of course.


Just keeping people updated, since its Easter and I presume you'd want more news.


As for the ALIENS, they're all good to go, but I want to try and get at least most of the pred stuff ready before I release it.
