Well, i'm done modelling it and i'm now skinning. I may ammend the model a little when i've got the base skin on, but this is how it's looking at the moment. Note i've taken the shot in flat shading mode since the texture at present is hideous.

Also, i'm thinking of making the whole lot thinner, but in the end, it's not gonna be that big at all.

Isn't that a bit odd for a mine?
Mines are suspose to be small and not noticable.
I grab that you are going to make it smaller but that shape seems odd.

It is small though. 
I've been told that it more resembles a C4 charge, but then again, i don't much care, it's the most complicated model i've managed to do in my exceptionally short career in modelling, heh, so i'm gonna finish it regardless.

I think it's an interesting design. It should be much flatter though or it'll be as much a danger for the Kharaa by tripping them up as it is by exploding.

A little update, the base skin's getting there, it's not that pretty yet, but it's an improvement.

Also, this shot's the right way up. And where i've used the 'vent2' texture, it will be changed, i just needed something quick, heh.

Is it just me, or does this look a lot like one of the traps from GhostBusters? You know, the thing that sucks up the ghost to hold it...
Funky mine anyway, probably harder to spot than the current enormous green pancake that sticks two inches out from the wall.

Thanks for all the great feedback. I've now got the model finalised (Did some tweeking with the size of the lens and of the "tail") and the w_ models are implemented and working perfectly. The skin still requires a little work, but it's functional at least, so now i'm doing the toughest part for me, adding on the marine arms and sorting the animations. I'm gonna see if i can get away with using the default mine animations, but all this bones stuff is making me crazy.
Hopefully i can have something for the v_ model done today. Hopefully......
I've not even looked at the p_ model yet so i'm not sure what that entails to get working, oh well, guess i'll see when i get there.

I've left the hand positions in the same places as the original mines, i just scaled my mine up.
It's not like you actually need to aim with the mine really. Heh. Although, point noted.

Sorry to say but imho doesnt look that good the v model. Mayb some more detail in the skin I dunno, it just doesnt do it for me. But strangely the peewees r cool0r

jesus christ must you analize everything? just because this mod isnt a 'realistic' mod doesn't mean we can't have realistic models. Theres no argument. I never said the mod was realistic or not, i meant that we like realistic models (or just more detailed ones), HENCE we MODEL our own! Jesus!
