Wandering around my map checking out r_speeds, I noticed the epoly count was around 2300 - 'bloody hell', I thought. I turned around and got the resourcer out of view, and it dropped to about 1500. I turned off the weapon (LMG) and the epoly count dropped to zero.

Are the gun models really 1500 polys? that's... insane smile.gif

The lmg model itself is only 762 polys . . . I'm not sure about the hand models (I passed it off before they were included), but I think those may be around 300 or so a piece.

I'm not sure about the hand part, though . . .

Also, the resourcer (you mean the tower, right?) is less then 500 polys. So, the epoly count dropping 800 polys when that model is out of site can't be accurate.

As far as the weapons models go, we used the number of polys in the CS weapons and hands as a range to stay within when modeling them, so there shouldn't be much difference between the poly count for CS view models and NS ones.

Meh, roughly 800 less. :-)

I have noticed epoly counts far in excess of 6000 when playing the game tho, in a nice busy base with half a dozen marines running around. It kinda makes up for such limited wpoly counts :>
