The shotgun is finished, i have screenshots and zip file ready. just no space to host the screenshot or zip.
Both the floor model and the model carried by players have the high poly V_ verson now. in order for a download to be possible i need someone to host 2 images and the zip file.
i also dont take credit for the models they are the work of the ns team blah blah blah.
and if people like Infinitum start bitching about IP and stealing and all that utter crap ill keep it to myself. next model will be pistol, followed by lmg, hmg, then grenade launcher.

you know the one you hold in your hands? its that one, but other people will be holding that vers in game.
the normal one they hold is a low poly/ detail verson for people with slower computers.

Can I just ask you why you would make a high poly p_ and w_ model and not a v_ model? Good job though.

Nov 15 2002, 05:25 PM
Probably because the v_model looks good enough.

1st of all the v_ IS highpoly (unless u remodel it)
2nd to make a highpoly w and p you take the V and convert it.

Would still be nice to have full high-poly models though. Or a pack that's Truform-friendly for those with ATI stuff that can do it.. at the moment, the Turret Factories look like VW Beetles. Which is kinda cool, but a little silly at the same time. Can be easily fixed by just *not* welding the vertices between two polys that are supposed to have a sharp angle. Hrm... may take a peek into doing this myself, see what it would take to explode the models and just weld selectively, to get spiffy-lookin' stuff for those who can afford a nice Radeon 9700 Pro. See if the animations could just be re-applied to the new models, or if it'd have to be redone.. which might need to happen anyway, to accomodate high-nPatch Truform ballooning without parts of the models unrealistically sliding through other solid parts of the models.
(Welded versus non-welded only saves about 50KB apparently, would be more of a time issue in tailoring the weld-points of the models than anything else)

Wow that shotty looks better than ever. I'm scared to use the new better looking models though because I don't want to lose game performance. Will these models effect performance?

yes they will effect proformance. to a certin degree. if u have a slower system and are framerate crazy i wouldnt reccomend useing them.

using in-game. great for those who rig can support these high-poly stuff. looks like a similiar high poly pack in the works like those 2krauts did in the dod MSA 4ums.
cant wait for the rest of the TSA arsenal...but take your time.

just because you want something doesnt mean you can go breaking the rules.
And if you are searching for weapons there is many ways to do so with out breakign the rules. there is a search option you know but use it wiht not breakign the rules by bumping old old post. and there are sites such as nsarmslab that host numerous fils that have screenshots asswell plus other sites there is a thing in the sticckies..
sumone lock this topic
