As commented by Freak83, "
The active observer role is good for someone who wants to participate in TWG but feels they don't have enough time. Since all you'll be doing in this role is commenting in the forum thread about what you read in both the IRC channel and game thread, it will be less time consuming than actually playing the game"
As a reminder, please post your time zone when you sign up.
To everyone that joins us, good luck and have fun.
Game Details:
Number of Players: 19
Number of Wolves: 5
Number of Other: 1-3 active observers
Special Roles: Seer, Psychic, Guardian, Random Vigilante, 2 Lovers
Special Note: No death first night.
Lovers (as described by Mantrid): There are two Lovers. If one of them dies, the other dies immediatly from sadness. Lovers are randomly picked, so it is possible that a wolf and a civilian may be lovers.
Random Vigilante: A random civilian is designated as the Vigilante, without being told. At each night, every civilain will send in a PM as a Vigilante would; either selecting a player to kill, or not killing anyone. Only the chosen Vigilante's PM will be acted on.
Active Observer: A normal spectator with the added bonus of being able to post on the thread. As we haven’t had a wolf win yet, I’m hoping this will be the first.

We need Sky, Condizzle, and Badkarma and other people I am missing but especially Sky.
Anyway, I'll go for one of the
Active Observers. So how exactly does the Observers work? They can post anything they feel like posting, like "I feel that <x> person is a wolf" or something like that?
Can they help one team or the other, or something like that?

Why are the active observers wanted more then game slots?
Is it that they want the wolfs to win, but don't want to help them win by being a wolf?

Being an active observer allows you to be involved without being forced into being actively involved at any given time. It's also a way to be involved (which many of us that have played multiple games want) without worrying about everything you say being considered suspicious.

I'll play I guess. I didn't want to bump anyone out if it was going to be popular, but if you need players I guess I can find the time. PST.
I need to place a request that someone contacts me on IRC when the game starts though. I'm really busy and I'll likely miss it if just left to my own devices. I don't often get a chance to check these forums every day any more. IRC I use regularly because it's the connection point of everywhere I hang out online.

I'm sorry, but I do not have time to play this round. I was actually going to cancel my hosting if I won, but with EMP Demon there, there was no need.
If you want, I could be observer, but really, I don't have time for this. Sorry.

By request, signing up. I'm CET (which is GMT+1 currently, I think).
However, as always, I don't really feel like I have time for this. If you can find someone else to take my spot, please do so. Put me at the bottom of the list, with a (stand-in) next to my name or something.

There's nothing wrong with playing for the first time. Almost half the people in last game were new players. Just list your time zone and you'll be good to go.

Ye Gods!
I just read through all of TWG:X. I have to admit, that was some of the best playing for that type of game I have seen (I used to play, though we called in Mafia, ALOT when I was in HS). My hat is off to Lost and TheAdj!
I am tempted to sign up this time around, however I don't know if I will be around enough.
I can read/post of the forums most days (though very little on the weekends), but I can only be in IRC rooms at night most days (again, very little on weekends). IF this is enough time to be invloved please sign me up. If not I will sit back and watch it all unfold. (oh, and my time zone is EST)

It really depends on what your role is, though I am sure that every week day except for weekends is enough time.

Any one got one that is nice, small, minimalistic, but supports all basic functions (tab compleate, pms, multiple chans, etc)?

I heard from a statistician, that you're supposed to have 1/3 of the players as wolves. Perhaps interest is being lost because the game is unbalanced.
