It's what the Atmospheric flag is for (in spot lights), but it's broken in the current build.

It's worth noting that some of what's in screenshots from people who have been testing the editor isn't in this public build. As an example, the light beams were taken out a little while ago as they needed optimising. Don't worry, though, they're coming back later! There may be a few prop discrepancies, but other than that things are basically the same.

Im quite the noob, never done any map for HL or anything :). But here I am trying out the editor, going well I think not quite as eyecatching as your maps though. I just got some corridors and lights + some props : /. Anyway for my question, is there a config file or something that can be edited? Noticed my shadows dissapear when being farther away than 5m or so.

Here's some random pics of something I've been fiddeling with for a couple of hours. It's a control room of sorts.
![]() ![]() I've really no idea where I'm going with this. I'm just testing out the editor, really :D I really like it though. It's so simple to use and still very powerful, even in it's pre-alpha stage. I've no real experience with mapping in FPS games. Only used Hammer before but even there I was just messing around much like I am now. :) |

<br />how did you remove the wireframe lightblubs in you renders? you did you get out those renders anyway? Put the lights in a Layer then hide said layer. Models go away, light effects stay. Voila! -------------------- |

QUOTE how did you remove the wireframe lightblubs in you renders? you did you get out those renders anyway? What Mendasp said. Just put all the lights in one layer and then turn the visuality of that layer off. Once you've created a layer, just select all lights and click the little checkbox next to the hide-icon. What I have so far.
I haven't spent long on it, at most an hour. I've just been poking around, adding things, remove things, testing. 1st pic - View of a corridor 2nd pic - wide shot of said corridor entrance and build up of first large area (big open space behind camera atm not lit) 3rd and 4th pic - a "marine" area. Block at bottom of screen is just a placeholder for what will (eventually) be the CC when the models are available. Initial idea was make it rine start... might just make it a tech point room. In a "lit" and "unlit" status. ![]() ![]() ![]()
