All what is connected with DoW has me interested.
DoW II - new graphic engine afaik.

Toasted eldar yay. Yet, poor banshe ;<

It uses the Company of Heroes engine.

Also, from everything I've heard, the lengths at which they are going to get you more 'connected' to your units gets rid of way too many RTS things. I'm not exactly positive I like the ideas. Then again, I'm going almost completely off of GFW Radio coverage.

A question, though. Are the Eldar supposed to look like that (all humie like!) in the WH40k universe? tounge.gif I think all the Eldar units in the DoW series have some kind of helmet on, and I haven't looked into the WH40k universe otherwise.

in DOW you see the DE without a helmet on the main screen if you've chosen the play that race - also, in-game, a number of the icons show the DE full face.

I was thinking along those lines for a bit, too. But hey... it's Relic. They haven't let me down yet.

More connected to your units? Sounds good to me... half the reason I don't really play RTS these days is because I enjoy controlling fewer, more detailed things than masses of expendable stuff or huge armies =3

I was the kind of player who'd build a fairly autonomous and well defended base in Star craft so I could spend the rest of the game flying around a swarm of wraiths or ghosts which I'd decided names for XD

Yes, the main reason I liked DOW is that each unit had a kill sync for it and there were stronger so you got farther with one squad smile-fix.gif . This also makes me worry about SC2, about have'in to many units to control or just making then last about 2 seconds in combat.

Well, SupComm also has a level up system, and focuses on globs of troops. But it's definitely less pronounced than say C&C3 where level grinding your troops can make them godly. Squad of lv3 Mamoth Tanks? GG. In SupComm however it doesn't usually come into play a huge amount except for special units, like if you breach tech 2 or 3 before your opponent and rack up a bunch of kills with your bots, making them even stronger, or your commander, which could use the extra health for later tech levels.

Most of what they talked about revolved around more or less getting rid of Base Building and real resource management altogether. Units would be 'dropped' in, and even then, you'd only control 5 or 6 squads at a time.

It could be the resource system of Company of Heroes with the unit creation of Ground Control. That could work, yes?

The only similarity to Ground Control is that instead of arriving from a building, your dudes arrive from the sky. Why does that merit a meh?

It was more a "meh" towards getting rid off base building then that it's similar to GC's airdrop. Kind of why I didn't like WiC much, you don't get to march into the enemy base and obliterate them. I know most people quit the game when you are about to because the outcome is decided but it's the feeling blowing up buildings with large explosions (with added physics to the chunks preferably) which I'll miss.

If, instead of getting set units, you bought them with a points value at the start that'd be kinda cool as it'd be a real nod to the source material =D

Fear ensures loyalty! Where do you need me?

I'm also hoping to see the Imperial Guard in DoW 2. With the Company of Heroes cover system, I'd be really interested to see some epic defences by the Guardsmen. "For every one of us that falls, ten more will take his place!".

And am I the only one who thinks the Force Commander in the trailer looks exactly like Clive Owen? I wouldn't be surprised if they actually based the FC character on his face. Call me noob if it has been told somewhere tounge.gif

Holy crap that was a hive fleet blacking out the sky wasn't it?
Nids are easily the coolest race in the 40k universe! I absolutely cant wait to use them!

I appreciate an army that needs nothing more than the claws, teeth and acid of its armies to kill stuff. I'm a fan of both the alien movies and NS... Nids is the logical choice for my army of choice
